Honda Jazz named least likely to fail its MOT
The Honda Jazz has been named the best performing car in a collation of MOT test centre reports – with just six per cent failing their first MoT.
The annual test is designed to make sure vehicles are safe, roadworthy and comply with exhaust emissions tests. But it does not have to be taken until they are three years old.
The figures from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency relate to motors registered in 2015, which had their first test last year.
The Honda CR-V also made the list, coming in 10th with a 9.6% fail rate.
At the other end of the spectrum, the Citroen C4 Gd Picasso scored a 22% fail rate, with other makes on the ’10 worst’ list including Ford, Dacia and Volkswagen.
James Ruppert, editor of Free Car Mag, says the figures do not take account of how well owners cared for vehicles before their first test or how many miles were on the clock.
Regardless, with two entries in the top 10, it seems Honda’s excellent reputation for quality and reliability is not undeserved, and perhaps the figures indicate that Honda owners are more likely to look after their cars, too.
