Hat trick of honours for Honda at 2019 What Car? Awards

Honda (UK) was very proud to receive a hat trick of honours at the 2019 What Car? Car of the Year awards last night, including the prestigious Hot Hatch of the Year award for the Civic Type R which it took for the second consecutive year.

The Urban EV took the coveted reader award for the Most Anticipated Car Launch of 2019 - the third time in five years that a Honda car has won it, and with eight times as many votes as the car finishing in second place. Many thanks to those who took the time to vote. We look forward to seeing the prototype at Geneva Motor Show in March.

And finally, the CR-V hybrid was awarded Best Hybrid Over £30,000, with the car described as ‘refined, spacious and good to drive’ by What Car? Editor, Steve Huntingford.

Phil Webb commented: “Starting a new year with not one but three accolades at one of the most prestigious automotive awards ceremonies is fantastic. Of course, we know the Civic Type R is a winner but to have What Car? say it, and say it twice in a row, is something special. Compounding that with the overwhelming landslide of a win for the Urban EV and then a price-point win for the CR-V hybrid; we have a great 2019 ahead of us.”
